I am not feeling creative enough to come up with a blog title, so as I type this the tentative title is "Insert Blog Title Here". If I come up with a better title throughout the course of writing this post I will change it, so here we go.
First off, the deck is nearly done. It might actually be done, but Thad has a couple small projects to complete on it before he feels satisfied with the results. How does it look, you might be asking yourself. It looks GREAT. Truly, he and his dad did a great job, and I can't wait to finally entertain some friends in style.
We decided on this set of patio furniture. Notice the firepit, it's gas and I can not WAIT to get it set up and sit outside on the coming summer nights. Apparently we aren't "allowed" to roast marshmallows on it, but coming from Captain Killjoy I think I might be able to change his mind.
Besides deck news there really isn't a lot going on in Casa Swan these days. Colter points at us and now tells us "No" and "Stop it", which he has learned from the numerous times he hears that in a day. Elora has started telling me my suggestions are a "great idea" when she likes them, or "not a great idea" when she doesn't like them. My greatest ideas have to do with parks and ice cream. My least great ideas revolve around bathing and getting ready for bed. Colter also had his fingers in the hinged-edge of the doorframe yesterday when I was about to close it, and since I didn't realize his little hand was there I straight up pinched it when I was leaving a room yesterday. I felt horrible, of course, especially since I thought that when that horrible day came it would be his sister's fault. Nope, totally Mommy's.
Thad is a man exhausted. I think homeboy needs a few days off by himself. No kids, no wife, just himself and a honey-do list as long as my arm. Or maybe I could quash the honey-do list in favor of him relaxing, resting, and not doing anything for whole day.
We have made a couple plans for the summer, mostly just a couple Fridays off so we can run around and do some fun stuff. Colstrip Days is at the end of June, and my bestie Morgan is having her birthday party at Georgetown Lake at the end of July, so that is also on my summer agenda. Other than that I think we'll throw a lot of last minute parties (because I don't enjoy planning) throughout the summer, and maybe take our camper out to the mountains a couple times as well.
Steve Miller Band will be at the Red Rocks 7/23, and I would LOVE. No, LOVE, to go. Steve Miller Band played a role in my adult development, only because it was part of the soundtrack of my first (and only) year of college living. Thad is heading to Missoula for Foo Fighters next week, and I would actually trade any night of BluesFest in downtown Billings for the chance to go see Steve Miller Band. I'm working on it.
Hopefully things are still moving forward with potentially having a reduction this year. My chiropractor agrees that while he thinks his service isn't detrimental to my current back problems, it also isn't helping. Tomorrow I'm getting a massage so hopefully that will work out the kinks and knots currently lurking behind me. I'm also going to see my other doctor this month about my back pain and see if he suggests that I see an orthopaedic specialist for a consultation.
Oh, and Black Swan. Crazy. Weird. Crazy. Kind of disturbing. But I would watch it again. If you haven't seen yet, be prepared to cringe and squirm in discomfort. Like a bladder infection style squirm.
